Diesel Mechanic

Job Description

The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for investigating problems with different types of motor vehicles and making repairs accordingly. Their duties include communicating with the shop manager to discuss their concerns, carrying out routine maintenance procedures on motor vehicles and replacing parts on motor vehicles to promote their functionality.

Environmental Conditions

The work environment involves high risks with exposure to potentially dangerous situations or unusual environmental stress that require a range of safety and other precautions where conditions cannot be controlled and/or is exposed to one or more disagreeable conditions such as outdoor weather conditions, excessive noise, vibration, extreme temperatures, odors, dust, oils, fumes, lubricants, chemicals, close quarters, etc. more than 50% of the work time.

Typical Physical Demands

Moderate walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, reaching; heavy lifting and carrying; working outside and inside; exposure to extreme temperatures and vehicle fumes; working around moving objects and machinery with moving parts.
